Be unique. Say Merry Christmas.

People that get offended because you are festive and Christian or at least enjoy celebrating a Christian holiday and say "Merry Christmas" can go pound sand. (Can I say "go pound sand" in a Christmas post?)

When did we become a nation of thin-skinned, weak-kneed, runny-nose, super-sensitive victims?

I have family and friends that are Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, Agnostic and even Atheist.

If I "slip up" and say "Merry Christmas" to them they don't get offended.

Sure, I do my best to remember to say "Happy Hanukkah (or Chanukah)" when I greet my brother-in-law or my business partner, Denni.

But sometimes I forget. Not because I hate Jews or want to convert them but because it's a 45 year old habit for me to say "Merry Christmas" in December to people. It's meant to be a friendly greeting. Not an attack on anyone's religious beliefs.

Non-wimps (who are the only people with whom I associate) get it and know I'm a jolly good fellow and say right back to me "Merry Christmas, Wes. Pass the bottle opener, cork screw AND shot glass." (We have good parties in December.)

If you are Christian and/or market and sell to Christians and/or are not threatened or offended by Christians being of good cheer for a month each year (we should be cheerful all year but we're human and God is still working on us), then grow a pair and send out cards and emails and phone messages and signs in your office that say...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Let the wimps say "Happy Holidays." They're the ones that will have to look Jesus in the eye one day and come up with an answer when He asks "Why didn't you celebrate my birthday?"

Merry Christmas, Y'all.
