Run More Than One Company In Infusionsoft

Can you change your company name in Infusionsoft?

No, this is not a trick question.

Yes, I know, the first step is easy and obvious.

It's the second step—and the reason why—that is a tad bit tricky at times.

Can you keep a secret?

Entrepreneurs chase shiny objects and have their hands in a lot of pies and a lot of irons in the fire at the same time.

WHAT?"
Shocking, isn't it?

Can you keep another secret?

A lot of entrepreneurs that use Infusionsoft run multiple lists from multiple websites with a single Infusionsoft application.

"BLASPHEMY!"

If I'm lying I'm dying.

As an Infusionsoft Consultant I hear many of my clients and new Infusionsoft users tell me they think can do this but one of the things that trips them all up is changing the Company name in the footer.

You see, to be compliant with CAN-SPAM laws you must have your physical address, phone number and a way to opt out of your emails. However, you are not required to include your company name in your footer.

So I tell my clients to just not put your company name in your footer and since you can change the "FROM" email name and address, that's all you really need to do to send an email from another one of your web sites.

But Infusionsoft clients get tripped up when they remove their company name from their Infusionsoft application because it appears in two (2) places.

  1. The easy one is simply under Admin > Users. There you'll see all of your contact info.
  2. The tricky one is under Marketing > Settings > Template Settings > Email Defaults. Note how I simply leave my Company field blank.
Leave your company name blank in Infusionsoft Email Defaults under Template Settings.
But, Wes, How does that look in the footer? How will people know it's me? How will they know which company is contacting them?"

Did you really just ask that question?

  1. Your "From" address will be your proper email so they'll know it's from you.
  2. Put your name, logo, photo, social media, links, etc. in the body of your email.
  3. Below is what the footer looks like in one of my emails.

The only people looking at your footer are those wanting to opt out.

They're not going down there to find your address to send you a Christmas card.

Infusionsoft ensures you comply with all email compliance rules so you're good to go by following these steps.

Just don't tell anybody. Deal?

Now go sell something.
